As a result of damaging alterations the old building was one of the few in George Street that was not listed The precise stone detailing extended to opening the original quarryThe old building had been damaged by unsympathetic alterations during the nineteenth centuryThe new building is exactly the same as the old one would have been when first completed and restores the street scene
